How does Wildebloom work?

Question 2

Are your patterns AI-generated?

Accepted Answer

No. Our patterns are professionally designed and tested by experienced patternmakers and fashion designers with over a decade of runway, editorial, and commercial experience.

Fit and customization are powered by our proprietary software, which uses mathematical ratios and parametric mapping based on your measurements.

We do not use AI to generate patterns.

Question 3

If the pattern uses my measurements, why do I still need to select a size at checkout?

Accepted Answer

The size you select at checkout is your default print-ready size if you don’t want to customize, and the starting size in the designer.

Choose the size closest to your body measurements to minimize adjustments. You’ll still have access to the full customization range, no matter which size you choose.

What if I’m between standard sizes?

Accepted Answer

That’s exactly what Wildebloom is designed to solve.

If you plan to customize, choose either size at checkout. You’ll get the same full customization range, and the software will generate your pattern from your actual measurements. No grading will be needed.

If you do not plan to customize, choose the larger size — it’s easier to trim down than add width later.

Question 5

I don’t see my size in the preset sizes. Can I still use your patterns?

Yes, as long as your measurements fall within our designer range. Current maximum:

Bust: 150 cm / approx. 59 in
Waist: 120 cm / approx. 47 in
Hips: 170 cm / approx. 66.5 in

If you’re within these ranges, choose any size at checkout and enter your exact measurements later in the designer.

If you’re outside this range, contact us at contact@wildebloom.io.

Question 6

How many measurements do you require? Can I take them at home?

Accepted Answer

Our designer currently supports up to 20 measurement customizations.

For the best fit, read each measurement definition carefully before you begin. Our Measurement Guide walks you through the process step by step.

You can take measurements at home, though it’s easier with someone helping. Most customers complete the process in about 10 minutes, and you can save them in your avatar page.

If you prefer, you can also download a standard preset size without customization.

Question 7

What can I customize in the designer?

Accepted Answer

You can adjust key body measurements and garment details directly in the designer. Current primary measurement ranges go up to:

Bust circumference: 150 cm / approx. 59 in
Waist circumference: 120 cm / approx. 47 in
Hip circumference: 170 cm / approx. 66.5 in

Question 8

Will my customized pattern fit perfectly?

Accepted Answer

Our goal is to get you much closer to an amazing fit from the first print.

With accurate measurements, your customized pattern should fit significantly better than any standard fixed-size pattern, and reduce the need for major alterations like FBAs, swayback adjustments, or grading between sizes.

Fit can still vary based on measurement accuracy, fabric choice, sewing technique, and personal preference.

If something feels very off after customization, contact us within 30 days. We’ll help troubleshoot, and if we confirm a pattern-related fit issue, we’ll issue a refund.

Are seam allowances included?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Every purchase includes:

Print-ready US Letter, A4, and A0 files with ⅜ in / 1 cm seam allowance
An A0 version without seam allowance

If your fabric or project requires a different seam allowance, you can adjust it in Illustrator or another design program, or add it manually after printing.

Question 10

How do I print my PDF sewing pattern at home?

Accepted Answer

Follow the steps below:

Choose the correct format: US Letter (8.5” × 11”) or A4 (both provided)
Set Print Scaling to 100% or “Actual Size” (do NOT use “Scale to Fit”)
In Page Setup, choose Borderless if your printer supports it
Assemble pages using the row and column guides. For example, R2/8 C4/7 means row 2 of 8, column 4 of 7
Align pages edge-to-edge and tape together. No trimming or overlapping is needed.

Question 11

Can I print the pattern at a copy shop?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Every purchase includes full-size, unsplit A0 PDF files for large-format printing.

Take the A0 file to a local copy shop or online pattern printing service.

Question 12

Are your patterns edge-to-edge?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Our tiled home-print files are edge-to-edge, so you don’t need to trim or overlap pages.

Use the ruler on the page to confirm scale, then use the row and column guides to assemble the pattern.

Question 13

What if I still see margins after printing at home?

Accepted Answer

Some home printers do not support true borderless printing, even if the file itself is edge-to-edge. In that case, your printer may cut off the page edges.

The printed ruler is the source of truth for scale. As long as the ruler is accurate, you can still tape pages edge-to-edge and extend any missing seam lines, notches, or grainlines with a pen.

Why don’t I see page numbers?

Our pages are labeled by row and column instead of traditional page numbers.

Because each customized pattern may be different, the designer automatically rearranges pieces to reduce page count. The same design might export as a 4 × 6 layout for one person and a 5 × 5 layout for another.

Why don’t your patterns have cut-on-fold lines?

Accepted Answer

Because our patterns are customized to your measurements, we currently export full pattern pieces instead of cut-on-fold pieces.

Question 16

Can I use my PDF pattern in Illustrator, CLO 3D, or CAD software?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Wildebloom patterns are vector-based PDF files with embedded metadata. They are compatible with industry-standard tools like Illustrator, CLO 3D, and other CAD software.

For Illustrator:

Open the unsplit PDF file directly to isolate, refine, or customize pattern pieces.

For CLO 3D:

Go to File > Import > Adobe (AI/PDF)
Select the unsplit PDF file
In the import settings, set Unit Scale to Auto Scale
Click OK to import the pattern

Once imported, you can assign fabrics, adjust attributes, and make further design changes.

What is your return policy?

Accepted Answer

Because our products are digital downloads, all sales are final.

However, we offer refunds in cases of verified pattern-related fit issues after customization. If something feels very off, contact us within 30 days so we can help troubleshoot.

Question 18

Can I change or cancel my order?

Accepted Answer

Orders begin processing immediately after purchase and cannot be canceled.

However, you can always go to your account library, open your pattern in the designer, update your measurements or design details, and re-export your file anytime.

Can I sell clothing made from Wildebloom patterns?

Accepted Answer

Wildebloom patterns are for personal and non-commercial use only. Commercial use is not permitted without written permission.
